Nexus grows employee ownership in the Twin Cities

Oct 23, 2017 | Community

We recently spent some quality time in the Twin Cities with Nexus Community Partners. We were honored to deliver a day of training on worker coop conversions and coop member education to an amazing group of local leaders who are learning about coop development through Nexus’ Culturally-Based Cooperative Development cohort.

While we were there, Nexus hosted a distinguished group of Twin Cities’ political leaders and we were able to have an intimate conversation about both the tremendous need for community wealth building and the real opportunity for a coop conversions strategy given the Silver Tsunami of retiring baby boomer business owners. We shared our City Toolkit and talked about ways that cities and counties can engage and invest.
