SF Bay area’s newest cooperatives

Jul 20, 2017 | Companies

In the summer of 2017, Project Equity helped employees purchase Niles Pie, a bakery and cafe in Union City, CA and A Slice of New York, a pizza restaurant with locations in San Jose and Sunnyvale. Each owner (Kirk Vartan pictured above left and Carolyn Berke, right) are staying on and joining the new worker-owners in each business.

If you’re in Union City, make sure to stop by Niles Pie for some incredible pastries. And if you’re in the South Bay, swing by A Slice of New York and get a delicious taste of equity!
