New year, new partnerships, renewed commitment to expanding employee ownership in 2025
- Project Equity
As we step into 2025, Project Equity is excited to launch new initiatives and renew our commitment to expanding employee ownership. Building on the momentum of our first decade, this year marks a period of transformation, growth and impactful partnerships. Here’s a look at what lies ahead:
Embracing independence
Late last year, Project Equity transitioned from a fiscally sponsored project of Multiplier to an independent nonprofit organization. This milestone gives us greater autonomy to deepen our impact and extend our reach in the EO space. We are immensely grateful to Multiplier for their years of support and look forward to this new chapter of independent operations.
Launching a partnership with Employee Ownership Expansion Network
This year, we are proud to partner with the Employee Ownership Expansion Network (EOX) to deliver employee ownership training for business advisors at select EOX state centers across the country. These localized trainings will equip advisors with the tools and knowledge to advise businesses in transitioning to employee ownership models. By fostering expertise at the community level, we are paving the way for a stronger, more widespread EO movement.
Supporting the California Office of the State Business Advocate
We are partnering with the California Office of the Small Business Advocate (CalOSBA) to educate small businesses about employee ownership and provide support for those interested in exploring employee ownership transitions. CalOSBA helps owners of the state’s 4.1 million small businesses find and navigate resources, programs and regulations that enable them to thrive.
Revitalizing the EO Equals campaign
EO Equals, the member-driven national brand campaign for employee ownership, will relaunch in 2025. This dynamic initiative seeks to raise awareness of the benefits of employee ownership as a rewarding exit strategy and a powerful tool to access capital, improve productivity and reward employee dedication. Representing employee ownership advocates and organizations actively working to create new employee-owners, EO Equals aims to make this model as recognizable and viable as any traditional business path.
Advancing EO in Maryland
Project Equity has launched a new initiative to preserve legacy businesses, increase quality jobs, generate wealth and bolster the economy in Montgomery County. Joining together with regional partners, we will collaborate on business outreach, educational initiatives and research activities to raise awareness about employee ownership, educate local business owners and expand the number of employee-owned businesses in Montgomery County. This initiative underscores our commitment to expanding employee ownership and leveraging it to foster resilient local economies.
Looking forward
With new initiatives and a renewed focus on advancing employee ownership, Project Equity enters 2025 with purpose and determination. We are deeply grateful to our partners, funders and supporters who make this work possible. Together, we can continue building an economy where employee ownership is not just a possibility but the norm.
Join us in this journey and stay connected as we roll out these exciting initiatives throughout the year. Let’s make 2025 a pivotal year for employee ownership!
