Understanding cooperative ownership

Worker cooperatives are gaining momentum as a flexible, values-driven ownership model. This Certified Employee Ownership Advisor course explains how democratic governance, profit-sharing, and cultural transformation can turn employees into long-term stakeholders and boost company performance.

You’ll gain the tools to advise clients on the tax advantages, legal requirements, and financing options unique to cooperatives, and you’ll understand how to evaluate readiness for this transition. Worker coops may not be right for every business, but when they are, they create unmatched engagement and resilience.

Learning objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand worker cooperatives: structure, purpose, and key features
  • Evaluate tax advantages and legal considerations specific to worker cooperatives
  • Analyze governance and other key operational details of worker cooperatives
