Role Overview

The In-House Graphic Designer serves as the organization’s “Visual Guardian” for both the Project Equity and EO Equals brands. Reporting to the VP of Marketing & Communications, this role is responsible for modularizing long-form intellectual property into high-impact visual assets. You will translate complex economic data and national narratives into a compelling visual language that fuels our growth and establishes Project Equity as a visionary authority.

Key Responsibilities

1. Visual IP Modularization & Information Design

  • From Research to Reach: Transform dense white papers, research reports, and provocative POVs into highly consumable digital assets, including social media graphics, interactive web tools, slide decks, webinars, and promotional flyers. (Note: Long-form, complex publications and comprehensive learning products are typically supported by outside contractors.)
  • Data Visualization: Translate complex Employee Ownership data into high-fidelity charts and graphics designed to secure AI citations and simplify key financial concepts for business owners.
  • Asset Scalability: Execute our content distribution engine by modularizing key quarterly insights into various formats optimized for LinkedIn, Instagram, and web-based educational resources.

2. Brand Governance & Creative Leadership

  • Guardian of the “Brand Bible”: Maintain and enforce the organizational voice and visual identity, ensuring every asset reinforces Project Equity’s position as a category leader.
    Style Evolution: Support the transition from traditional, academic styles to a business-proactive, visionary aesthetic that appeals to media and funders.
    Digital Hygiene: Conduct regular brand collateral audits to retire outdated templates and ensure all external-facing materials meet current E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness) standards.

3. Digital Growth & Marketing Support

  • Conversion-First Design: Create high-converting creative for paid digital advertising channels to capture high-intent demographics like retiring business owners.
  • Lead Magnet Production: Design visually immersive digital elements and PDF lead magnets (e.g., Succession Planning Toolkits) to drive subscriber growth.
  • Multimedia Synergy: Partner with our digital and video content creators to provide graphic overlays, searchable thumbnails, and visual assets for YouTube, LinkedIn, and short-form video.

4. Cross-Functional Activation & Asset Management

  • Event & Regional Support:Provide graphic design support for regional market campaigns and key organizational events (such as the Employee Ownership Equals Summit) to ensure physical and virtual touchpoints are visually cohesive.
  • Sales Enablement Support: Collaborate with the Marketing team to design high-utility tools, including ROI calculators and industry-specific comparison guides.
  • Digital Asset Archiving: Serve as the team’s internal library resource by managing, tagging, sorting, and archiving all creative materials to ensure assets are easily accessible to the broader organization.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Visual Storytelling: Exceptional ability to distill technical or service-based information into clear, persuasive, and modern visual narratives.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expert-level mastery of the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Canva. Familiarity with basic motion graphics is a plus.
  • Category Design Mindset: Experience working in an environment where design is used to establish authority and define a market footprint.
  • Collaborative Workflow: Strong project management skills within a shared project tracking ecosystem (Asana), with the ability to manage multiple overlapping project deadlines.
  • Experience: 5+ years of graphic design experience, with a portfolio showcasing data visualization, quick-turn digital assets, and sophisticated branding.

  • Digital Reach & Platform Optimization: Advanced knowledge of digital imaging workflows, including technical file types, resolution requirements, and color modes, paired with a sharp grasp of specifications, dimensions, and distribution best practices for social media channels and web platforms.
  • Narrative Alignment & Copywriting: Strong written and verbal communication skills, a background or strong interest in promotional storytelling, messaging alignment, and content editing.
  • Proactive Solution-Finding: A mission-driven self-starter with a natural instinct to take initiative, anticipate design gaps across the brand ecosystem, and independently navigate complex creative challenges.
  • Inclusive, “Big Tent” Collaboration: A deep capacity to listen, understand, connect, and collaborate authentically with team members at all levels of the organization.

  • Engagement Quality: The performance of visual assets in securing high-value engagements and driving “Blog-to-Consultation” clicks.
  • Innovation: Contribution to establishing PE/EOE as a “Top 3” visual citation for Generative AI searches in business innovation.
